Our vision is to see children and young people transformed by Jesus.
Scripture Union continues to be a significant movement in the growth of God’s kingdom in New Zealand. It is a privilege to also be part of an international organisation with a significant history in evangelism amongst children and young people, creating lifelong disciples, developing leadership skills for life, and of course opening the Bible with people in life changing ways.
As we do these things to the best of our ability, we are seeing exciting growth in our ministry with primary aged children, including some exciting new ideas for working with the important intermediate age group. This has seen increasing involvement with local churches, empowering them to reach their school communities, and equipping leaders in ministry to children.
We aim to have a strong and seamless ministry in schools and camps from primary through secondary school, growing faith and learning leadership skills. We believe Scripture Union has an important opportunity to address the drop off in faith in tertiary years by contributing to the building of a robust faith through radical discipleship with teenagers.
There are many opportunities for Scripture Union to exercise its unique contribution to mission in New Zealand, but none of it is possible without our volunteers, and we want to pay tribute to them. Our relatively small staff team work with a large number of volunteers who organise, lead, promote and generally make happen, so much of Scripture Union’s ministry. We place a high value on them, and are extremely grateful for the skills they bring and will continue to do all we can to see them flourish in their roles.
Children & Families
Our team is focused on children and their families, and encouraging them in their relationship with Christ.
