Becoming a Leader
To become a leader on a SUPAkidz camp, there are a few things to think about:
-
Find a camp near you. We have SUPAkidz camps in Auckland/Northland, the Wellington region and in Southland. Check out the information about the next camp.
- Decide what role you would like to have on camp. Please download the ‘Important information for camp leaders’ PDF below for more detail on these roles.
- Group leader: You will be responsible for a group of five (8-11 year old) boys or girls. You need to be 16 years of age or older.
- Support Crew: You will be helping at camp by setting up equipment, helping cooks with meals and being involved in the programme. You need to be 14 years of age or older.
- Camp Parents: You will be parents to the campers at camp, providing support and care to the campers and leaders.
- Camp Cooks: You will provide healthy and exciting meals for all at camp working alongside the director to fit in with the camp programme.
- General Leaders: You may be someone who has specific skills such as nursing or outdoor instruction. Or you may be there to support the director. You need to have had experience working with children to fill this role.
- Download the paper work, complete it and send it in to Scripture Union. Alternatively, contact Andrew Ramsbottom for more information via email:AndrewR@ScriptureUnion.org.nz or phone: 09 379 9363 x 5.
- See if there is anyone else in your church (leaders or campers) who might like to come along. Ask your church to pray for you.
