Shop Online

Shop Online is a worldwide initiative helping local churches work together to reach local kids. It is coordinated in New Zealand by Scripture Union and Quantum Sport.

The initiative is growing rapidly across the world with many large, creative ministry organisations involved.

We believe it has the potential to connect with almost every child on the planet.

From February to April 2003, the first ever Shop Online event was held in New Zealand .

Ten weeks of after school programmes (run by 33 churches in 8 centres, reaching over 800 kids) culminated with a huge closing celebration at the Basin Reserve. Over 400 kids (+ families) from around Wellington city attended.

Since then Auckland, Wellington, Blenheim and Dunedin have hosted other events with thousands of kids involved and many local churches working together to reach into their local community, then following through with other initiatives like SUPAkidz clubs or sports related programmes. Many used the holiday programme model (- the material is very flexible) for their last Shop Online.

Every 2 years a new curriculum is launched which can be downloaded free of charge from the web. The resources help equip you to work with others in your locality (however large or small) to organise your own Shop Online.

Scripture Union Children and Families staff members have experience with Shop Online and can help you find the best way ahead. Training and good preparation, undergirded by prayer, are keys to the success of this opportunity for you to partner with others and reach children and families with the Bible based, sport related programme.
