Profile: Paul Dadd

Paul lives in West Auckland, attends St Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church in Henderson and works in the Children and Families Department of Scripture Union. He has been in his current role since the beginning of 2009 and is excited about helping adults to share God’s love and good news with primary age children in a fun and meaningful way.

Role Profile

Paul’s main role is to help train, resource and support the many volunteers who run SUPAkidz clubs in Auckland. Our SUPAkidz clubs are lunchtime or after school clubs that run in primary schools, teaching about God through a value based approach. Paul is passionate in helping churches get involved in their local primary schools, and to share God’s love with children, many of whom may never walk through the doors of our church buildings. As well as clubs, Paul is involved in running Scripture Union’s children’s ministry training conferences, WAY2GO, and our more local, tailored training days called WAY2GO Focused.  He also works with individual churches to support them in running high quality children’s activities.

Personal Profile

Paul grew up in the south east of England, and at university studied to be a primary school teacher. After teaching for six years, he decided it was time for a break and started looking for opportunities to live and work abroad. It was at this time, at the age of 26, that he became a Christian after attending an Alpha Course at a local church. Soon after, he found himself in New Zealand doing an internship with Scripture Union! His work with Scripture Union enabled him to bring together his lifelong love of working with children with a new found love of Jesus Christ. Shortly after Paul’s internship ended, he returned to work full time with Scripture Union. And what continues to be his motivation? - That every child may know the joy of having Jesus as their friend today and for the rest of their lives.
