Profile: Simon Rowbotham
I have been passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people for as long as I can remember.
One of my life goals is to use skills and knowledge I have gained working at a senior level in secular organisations to help advance the “back office function” of organizations involved in working with young people.
Role Profile
I am responsible for Scripture Union financial and administrative functions including human resources and information technology. The most significant part of the role is to be continually looking forward 1-3 years and sometimes longer to consider how today’s decisions will impact on the future financial viability of Scripture Union.
In doing so I am always conscious of the need to prudently manage the resources that have been made available to Scripture Union through the selfless giving of so many supporters and funders.
Personal Profile
I am married to Rose - we have four children, Kate, Ben, William and Connor. Rose and I are passionate about contributing to organisations making a difference in the lives of young New Zealanders. Our involvements outside of Scripture Union in this regard have included holding office in sports organisations/clubs, coaching sports and provision of seed capital to help new initiatives working with young people to get off the ground.
My recreational pursuits include cycling, swimming, fishing, trail riding and camping (especially at the Parachute music festival- we attend most years). These interests reflect a desire to engage in family based activities as well as my appetite for keeping fit!
