Profile: Sylvia Coulter
Sylvia is responsible for the region north of the Bombay Hills. Since childhood, Scripture Union has been part of her faith journey with daily Bible reading and enriching cross-denominational friendships in a high school Christian group. She longs to see New Zealand children and young people discovering who Jesus is, and feels privileged to work with the Scripture Union team to help make this happen.
Role Profile
Sylvia assists staff and volunteers in their ministries, encourages prayer and practical support and make churches aware of the resources and training we can help them with. She organises supporters’ events – prayer breakfasts, small group meetings and the annual February thanksgiving celebration of summer camping. Sylvia seeks opportunities to speak about Scripture Union in churches and to share messages from the Bible.
Personal Profile
Sylvia lives on Auckland’s North Shore and is an elder at Glenfield Presbyterian Church. She came on staff in 2003 and prior to that taught History and English at a local high school. Widowed now, Sylvia takes great delight in her family and an ever-growing number of great-nephews and nieces (28 at last count!). She has enjoyed doing theological study part-time, and is now three quarters of the way to a Master of Theology degree.

Pray for all the children and young people who have participated in Scripture Union camps this summer, and especially any who are returning to school with a new-found faith in Jesus, or a new determination to follow him more closely.
